In the Old Testament, there is a story of a special lady with the gift of hospitality. Her name is never mentioned, just where she lived. However, she made a great impact on the prophet Elisha and he felt safe and welcomed in her family’s home. Interestingly enough, while her name is unmentioned, Scriptures describe the room she made for Elisha to come and find rest and restoration.

One day Elisha went to Shunem. A prominent woman of the city invited him in to eat, and afterwards, whenever he passed that way, he stopped for dinner. She said to her husband, “I’m sure this man who stops in from time to time is a holy prophet. Let’s make a little room for him on the roof; we can put in a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, and he will have a place to stay whenever he comes by.” 2 Kings 4:8-10

It has long been mine and my husband’s hearts desire to have a special place for those carrying heavy mantles of the Lord just like this lady and her husband did. When the Lord directed us to this home a couple years ago we knew that He was granting that desire. We’ve had a few come and stay with us for short and extended periods and we know God has used it every time to bring refreshment to weary souls. We accommodate each stay to you, should you need lots of privacy or prefer someone to safely vent to or someone to pray with you. We want you to leave refreshed instead of walking away needing another vacation from your vacation. We don’t charge a fee and most meals are provided depending on the length of the stay. This is our way of pouring back into your ministry no matter if you’re a pastor, chaplain, missionary, lawyer, businessman, politician, celebrity, teacher, etc. The Lord gives ministry calls in all areas and each one can be heavy burdens to bear in their own ways.
