We were a bit torn as to what birthday theme to go with for our little one turning two this year. He loves Blaze but he also loves animals (and especially cats and donkeys). So since Blaze may be a little more fun to do for his third and farm animals might not come back around for another birthday we decided to run with the theme! But…this year was quite a crazy birthday year! COVID interrupted as well as our big family move. So his birthday was pushed out a couple months. I was sooooo very thankful that I had already finished all the projects and preparations before the move so that we could just easily throw it together especially since I had a lot of big and small projects for this party from the favor (handmade hobby donkeys instead of hobby horse that cost all of $2 to make), pig round up fence, flower jars, table runners, collecting egg cartons, and several other little projects. A friend of ours brought their lamb and goat with them since the move and COVID prevented the farm animals I originally planned on coming so we were delighted to enjoy Phoebe and Bucky’s company! The kids also got to go on an egg hunt with a twist, each egg was numbered 1-6 and they had to get one of each numbers for their cartons. Each contained a different farm related prize from finger puppet, figurine, stickers, pig squeaker, etc. And since many of them didn’t get to have an Easter egg hunt this year, it was extra fun! My amazingly, talented cookie friend made the cutest mini farm animal cookies and I just don’t think I’ll ever be able to do a party without her now haha! Again due to COVID, I thought it was a better idea to have cupcakes instead of a cake so I made a chicken egg looking cupcake and a muck and shovel chocolate cupcake and then I also made as much food individually wrapped as possible to provide an extra layer of protection.
